Every year I do this to highlight some of the many things this past year has brought me. As always I’m thankful for new friends and old and all the challenges I’ve faced and new adventures that will come. This year has been simple but dramatic.
January
- The year started off with Doctors and fighting but was resolved by sheer stubbornness.
- I started my first semester with a true course load in a long time. I always start with a huge load but end up dropping but these courses I couldn’t.
February
- I took my first course in Forensic Art with Karen Taylor and found a way to connect my majors.
- Sometime this month I got step…..but I wouldn’t know that until July.
March
- The second parents got Thaddeus (the Mastiff) who I still can’t believe I held now that he’s 200lbs and 7 months old.
- My second God daughter Miss Solara was born March 1st and I’m so excited to get to watch her and her sister grow.
- There were quite a few art related adventures including photo ops and a trip to Denver.
April
- Kicked ass this semester and though it doesn’t end until May I know most of my grades ahead of time.
- I’m officially in love with Islamic Art.
May
- I start my last semester as an Art Major finishing my last few credits
- Lots of creating and a final art history.
- I’m done with LCCC unless I add another major.
June
- Another art adventure and museum experience in Denver. If all my art classes were like this year’s I’d be doing my BFA.
July
- Competed in my first Color Run
- My tenth year at Barb’s
August
- Finished my degree in Art History now its time to focus on Anthropology.
- Second year doing the Warrior Dash. It’s a tradition.
September
- Decided to join a sorority and KAPPA choose me! Not something I ever would have though but I’m glad I did.
October
- Made the Dean’s list and got an award for it.
- Voted in as secretary of American Indian Studies Alliance
- You never realize who your family and friends are until they are all you have. My AISA family kicks ass.
November
- Made secretary of Student Art League
- Officially a KKG on the same day where 13 years earlier I became a Jobie
December
- I kicked ass this semester and finished with a 3.7 GPA
- Christmas wasn’t the season as I found out Christmas Eve that my mom had a mastectomy.
