Taking inspiration from Instagram artist codyjamesny I wanted to try my hand at drawing with ink and just letting go of perfection.
I did start with a pencil base sketch.
I need to work on the perfectionism. I still felt I had to “stay within the lines” and what I like so much about Cody’s style is the free look and lack of perfectionism.
A goal for 2025 was to draw every day. Okay to draw representing every day. I spent many a weekend playing catchup for whatever the months theme was. I made it January through October when I did two challenges actually drawing two things every day. Once with students and once for myself. November and December life got away and I didn’t see a point in pretending I had completed. the challenge.
Unfortunately my computer crashed in September and my phone died in October. This resulted in loss of many files including my scanned individual images so though I have the originals laminated in put in order I only have the Instagram reels to share.

Sometime in 2023 I decided to get back into art and begin drawing some of the faces and figures I found interesting. It began with people from National Geographics 2011 Faces of the World and expanded from there to polotics, color wheel, and podcasts. A total of 48 people. I’d like to say I finished 50. In reality I think my goal was 100 people but I believe it was the republican’s that truly killed me. Or I simply got busy….set the sketchbook on the shelf….and forgot to come back,
