By traveling alone I can visit and explore at my own discretion. I can go to dive bars or get recommendations from locals. I can decide to turn off or not based on me alone. I can skip or turn around without worry of what others want or don't want and I can spend two minute or two hours as I want. Traveling alone has given me the chance to reflect and grow as a person in experience and my own self. Every road trip has lead me to wondrous places, with awesome people and experiences. No matter how long or short the trip I come away with something wonderful.
Originally the goal was to finish the continental US west of Wyoming. When the opportunity presented its self to go to the Great Lakes I couldn't pass up completing more then expected of one 30 to 30 goal.
Prior to 2018 my state map looked like this with missing images for Utah, Montana and Illinois, and a drive though visits to Oklahoma.
After Adding Arizona and Utah with our Grand Canyon 30to30Roadtrip a workshop in Marquette Michigan gave me the option to visit many of the fly over states. I drove 48.41 hours over five days to get there and back covering ten states. Three I had been to and had photos for, two I visited as a kid and was missing photos. The rest were new. Here is the completed map as of June 2018.
