I’ve known it for years but maybe I just finally looked at it in a different light.
Debt only gets bigger and with the background I have and luck I don’t want to dig a hole that could one day harm me. This goal replaced one that couldn’t happen. Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me. I actually wish I’d added it sooner. In December I realized my debt so started looking at what I could do. Paying the minimum with high interest rates I wasn’t actually making my debt lower. So I started making payments. In two months I paid off around $400 dollars which got me under $1000. Not a lot for many people but for me this was a lot to not be academically related. I also took the time to look at what I was paying, how much and if I used it. I changed payments to one account so I knew where it was all coming and going from. I canceled subscriptions to things I didn’t use or were similar to things I used more often. I will continue to work on this and my goal for the end of my 30th year is to have my non student debt paid off completely.
