Cover-up Tattoo

This is one of the goals that filled in where other plans fell though. I got this tattoo when I was 19 or 20. I wanted the open heart flower with the words “If your heart is open love will find its way in” making up the stem. Kay wouldn’t sell me the necklace so a tattoo was better. I went to the guy who tattoo’d cheap. I think he charged me $70 but I’m not sure. He refused to do the design I wanted, He had his own spin. Because you will remember what it means you don’t need the text. I didn’t argue. So I let him go.

He was heavy handed, so much so that the ink was forced out and scared. I hated it. I loved the idea but hated the actual piece. I wouldn’t consider swimsuits that showed it, I wouldn’t show people. It made sense I would get it covered eventually. So I finally made the move. Starting in July I had an amazing artist design a cover that I loved. Even half done I love it.

Eventually I’ll get it completed but at this half way point I have the opportunity to decide how I want it to be colored. Originally I intended the moth to be neutral with the background colorful watercolor but now I’m not sure. Maybe I’ll get it finished by 40.
