2014

Every year I do this to highlight some of the many things this past year has brought me. As always I’m thankful for new friends and old and all the challenges I’ve faced and new adventures that will come. This year has been simply amazing and I can't wait for 2015.

January

  • I still don't know how it happened but I started the year off with a job offer.  Directly on New Years Eve.  I turned it down countless times, I didn't have time, energy, experience; but Rick just didn't listen and I'm glad I didn't either.
  • I attempted to start a 365 photo challenge and lasted exactly 3 days because every comment involved criticize of how every image should be edited more or less,  maybe some day I'll start one with instagram or something, where only my thoughts matter.
  • I finished out the month in Roswell traveling to San Marcos.

February

  • My second course with Karen Taylor at the F.A.C.T.S. facility in San Marcos, Texas.  I know what I want to do in life and this will take me there.
  • I turned 25.  I have survived a quarter of a century and should be highly impressed by this...it felt like any other day.

March

  • Kappa Kappa Gamma's Sapphire "Dance".  I am truly happy I got to experience this since I didn't do prom or high school dances.  I can also say I have never been more offended by people then I was that night.
  • Spring Break (the college way): My first trip to (staying in) Santa Fe with the members of SAL.  Followed by 3 days of work running and catch up.  All to end with my first experience of a Pow Wow at Denver March with members of the AISA family.
  • It was right around this time that I got recruited to become the secretary of Hillel.  Oh that journey!

April

  • KKG had a mothers bunch and we were able to get the Vogue Family and Vogue Mom's together.  This is also an awesome moment because I got more photos with my mom since there are so few.
  • Attempted a second Color Run at Copper Mt. this time however I miss read and we were late.  Meghan rocked it, I did half by default running to the restroom after I'd started
  • I got to see initiation from the other side, including set up and practice.  Now if only people would learn to believe me when I say I am allergic to cheese.

May

  • SAL finished semester with a quick trip to Modern Masters in Denver
  • One of my hardest semesters and one of the best by far getting a 3.79 gpa
  • Insane Inflatable 5K- with my two best and longest friends Jaella and Tracy.  This was a venture, I'd been on a bounce a handful of times tops and never a slide or climb one, only a jump up and down.

June

  • Summer classes why do I do this?  Print making being my final 'ART' class lead to a ton of creative ideas and plans for the future.
  • Internship......I truly enjoy the Historic Rustic Hotel site I have been working with since February but it becomes more overwhelming every day.  First something isn't done correctly, then it isn't done at all.  The opportunity to work with and learn from this site and the curation process will benefit me for many years to come.

July

  • Got another God Daughter! Hopefully this is my last :D.  Miss Olivia is just precious and I can't wait to watch her grow.
  • My eleventh year at Barb’s.  She keeps telling me I can't leave, I can't not work for her.  I hope I can do another year at least.
  • The first attempt at the GRE.

August

  • Third year doing the Warrior Dash. It’s a tradition. I didn't run this year because so many obstacles involved heights and we had a guest willing to run it all.  They still made sure I got a medal though.
  • Experienced my first and thankfully only Work Week with KKG frankly there is so much that could and should be done it really should be as hectic and stupid as it was.  But every experience makes us better

September

  • My final semester for Art History! Language and one museum art history course.
  • My first and only formal recruitment from the inside of the door.  Its fun, crazy, worth it.  The nights are long and days longer but the women I met and the women I now call sisters are amazing and wonderful
  • Elected the President AISA which is truly an honor.  I hope it leads to a great year for the group.  I will finish out my time at UW as secretary of SAL and Hillel and President of AISA.
  • Made the Dean’s list again and got an award for it my parents were able to come to the ceremony this time, and I got to see some of my Kappa sisters with the same honor.

October

  • Sometimes a month needs to be boring so you can appreciate when there is way too much going on.  October was one of those months.
  • I will say the Vogue Family grew with Abi getting a set of her own twins.  Jordan we knew from the first meeting at recruitment would be a Vogue.  Katie is a wonderful anchor that keeps us level while still allowing us to be wild and free.  I can't wait to see where the Vogue Family goes in the future.
  • Buds must be oddly lucky for me because I wound up the unofficial official curator of the Depot Museum in Laramie working to improve the museum and displays.

November

  • Registering for my final semester of my under graduate degree and at UW.  It is bitter sweet but it won't hit me until spring when I'm not registering for another semester.
  • One of my grade school friends got married and I am so glad I got to be there on that special day.  Katie I wish nothing but the best with Tim and the journey god has planned for you both.  I'm beginning to think should I ever find that poor sap to marry I have to get married in November because both of my grade school best friends did.

December

  • I never imagined my bethel would go dark.  It was something you heard about but never truly imagined.  Many times I said it should happen, most times it should have. But you never truly imagine it.  I don't know the year Bethel 39 Cheyenne Wyoming was founded, and I wish I could have attended the final meeting in December.  I wish the best of luck to the forming Bethel 50 a combination of 33 and 39 that will take Job's Daughters Cheyenne into the future.
  • I graduated.      Lets read that again.  I GRADUATED!  After 7.5 years I finally finished at least some of the way.  I stared with General Studies though I knew I wanted to do art therapy.  Finally my advisor who insisted I should go nursing or accounting either died or retired so I was able to declare Art therapy with a FA concentration.  I eventually came to uw and was forced into art undeclared because art therapy wasn't an option.  I eventually went art ed, then art, then art history and finally after adding the museum studies minor I'm done.......now just to finish Anthro.
  • In graduating I decided to add a second major in American Indian Studies.
  • I ended the year just as it began with news from Century 21.  After a year of putting together everything to do property management, having a property come on and sell then learning the basics of sales again I realized the cost of learning wasn't worth staying.  With school I couldn't dedicate the time and energy to clients and it was the wrong time to get into property management.  I am blessed to have had this experience and learning opportunity.  It is something to put on applications and it is a door that will continue to be open for me should I ever need it.

A few dates....some terrible, some awkward and some just dates I'm finishing out the year just as it started single and loving it.  So many friends have gotten married, engaged and or pregnant, and I wish them nothing but the best, but I am not ready for that.  I don't love myself yet for someone else to love me.  Maybe 2015 will change that but for now I'm content.  I want to better myself then we can see about letting someone else better me.
